Adult Choir

The adult choir at Jones Chapel is committed to bringing music to the traditional service that is worshipful in meaning and experience. The adult choir, led by Leigh Anne Myers, practices on Thursday nights from 7:00-8:30pm in the sanctuary building. Along with performing in the traditional worship service they also present two musicals each year. Their Christmas Cantata always strives to bring the birth of Christ alive in song and experience while their Easter Cantata/Drama is able to depict the death and resurrection of Christ before each and everyone’s eyes.

The adult choir is also committed to providing the church at Jones Chapel, and surrounding community, with cultural experiences and events to participate in. Their main event each year is their annual Night On Broadway Dinner Theatre. This dinner theatre features approximately 1.5 hours of Broadway music and dinner all prepared and presented by the adult choir and congregation of Jones Chapel. The adult choir also has two church-wide yard sales and performs at local churches within their community.

Stephen Ministry

At Jones Chapel we are committed to providing the best in pastoral care services to our congregation and surrounding community members. Led by Susan Young, our Stephen Ministry organization has been providing counseling services to our members for over a year.

The Stephen Series is a complete system for training and organizing lay people to provide one-to-one Christian care to hurting people in and around your congregation. The Stephen Series provides congregations with the structure, training, and resources to set up and administer a complete system for lay caring ministry (called Stephen Ministry) in the congregation. In Stephen Ministry congregations, lay caregivers (called Stephen Ministers) provide one-to-one Christian care to the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced, unemployed, relocated, and others facing a crisis or life challenge. Stephen Ministry helps pastors and congregations provide quality caring ministry for as long as people need it (Stephen Ministry 2011).

At Jones Chapel we understand the importance of missions to our congregation and to those around us. Sonya McDaniel, our mission coordinator, is committed to allowing the people of our congregation to help those that are less fortunate. In 2010 the mission group went to Guatemala and they already have plans to participate in mission work in Tennessee. The mission group is a wonderful way for people to experience Christ’s love and serve those around us.

Hand Chime Ensemble

The hand chime Ensemble at Jones Chapel practices on Saturday mornings from 10:00-11:00am in the Sanctuary building. The hand chime ensemble teaches basic music theory, rhythm, proper hand chime techniques, and stresses having fun while enjoying the music. They currently perform at the traditional service and perform special musical arrangements at Christmas and Easter.

Praise Band at Jones Chapel

During the contemporary service at Jones Chapel you will experience the Jones Chapel Praise Band (JCP). The praise band not only leads worship for the contemporary service but also presents two musicals each year, Christmas and Easter. This band welcomes anyone who wishes to join. Currently the band is composed of a bass player, two acoustic players, drums, keyboard, and vocals. All musical levels are welcome to come and join in the praise with us. They currently practice on Sunday mornings at 8:00am in the Family Life Center.
